US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,459.00 with a loss of -0.30% percent or -7.50 point. Other U.S. stock futures are lower in pre-market trading for Friday, September 08. The Dow Futures are trading at 21,730.50 with a loss of -0.31% percent or -67.50 point. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 5,956.25 with a loss of -0.23% percent or -13.75 point.

FRIDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

U.S. government debt prices were higher on Friday, as investors geared up for more data releases, while awaiting a speech by a Federal Reserve member.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note sat lower at around 2.036 percent at 5:40 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was down at 2.658 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.

In central bank news, Philadelphia Fed President Patrick Harker is expected to deliver remarks at the “New Perspectives on Consumer Behavior in Credit and Payments Markets” Conference in Philadelphia.

In addition, investors are likely to be digesting the comments recently made by the European Central Bank, after it decided to leave its benchmark interest rate unchanged at its September meeting.

The S&P 500 closed at 2,465.10 with a loss of –0.02% percent or –0.44 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,397.87 for up with +0.07% percent or +4.55 point.
