MONDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS
U.S. government debt prices were lower Monday, as investors switched focus to the latest developments coming out of the auctions sphere and U.S. Federal Reserve.
The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note sat higher at around 2.386 percent at 5:40 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was up at 2.899 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.
While no major speeches are expected to take place by members of the U.S. Federal Reserve on the first trading day of the week, discussion about who should lead the U.S. central bank from early 2018 is likely to be on the lips on many investors Monday, as a verdict looms.
