S&P Futures Opening Update as on 02 February 2018

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,802.25  with a loss of -0.72% percent or -20.25 point. Other U.S. stock futures are lower in pre-market trading for Friday, February 02. The Dow Futures are trading at 25,945.00  with a loss of -0.87% percent or -227.00 point. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 6,870.75   with a loss of -0.40% percent or -27.75 point.

FRIDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

U.S. government debt prices were lower on Friday morning, as the bond sell-off continued.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury notes was higher at around 2.7919 percent at 3:30 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was also higher at 3.0350 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.

The latter topped the 3 percent benchmark Thursday for the first time since May. Investors seemed increasingly confident that the Federal Reserve would increase rates at a faster pace following Wednesday’s meeting.

THURSDAY’S ACTIVITY

U.S. market were mixed on Thursday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 26,186.71 for up with +0.14% percent or +37.32 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,821.98  with  a loss of -0.06% percent or  -1.83 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 7,385.86 with a loss of -0.35% percent or -25.62 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at  1,579.87  for up with +0.31% percent or +4.88  point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 963.92  for up  with +0.47%  percent or +4.53  point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,957.25 for up with  +0.17% percent or  +3.28 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,252.15  for up with  +0.06% percent or +0.73 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,664.37  with a loss of -0.02% percent or  -0.31 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,560.96  with  a loss of-0.04% percent or  –0.70 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 26,186.71  for up with   +0.14% percent or  +37.32  point.

WORLD MARKETS

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere,Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 23,274.53   with a loss of -0.90% percent or -211.58 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 32,627.52   with a loss of -0.04% percent or -14.57 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,462.08 for up with +0.44% percent or +15.10 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 35,385.04 with a loss of  -1.45% percent or  -521.62  point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 are trading at 7,465.86   with  a loss of -0.33% percent or  -24.53 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,831.80  with a loss of  -1.32% percent or  -172.10 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,389.79   with a loss of -1.19% percent or -64.75 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 389.91  with a loss of -0.90% percent or -3.59 point.
