WEDNESDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS
U.S. government debt prices were higher on Wednesday, as investors await for important news out of the Federal Open Market Committee’s (FOMC) latest meeting.
The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note sat in the red at around 2.315 percent at 4.45 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was lower at 2.896 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.
The FOMC is set to begin the second day of its two-day meeting on Wednesday, where the U.S. central bank is expected to continue to examine the state of the U.S. economy, and talk about what they should do next when it comes to strategy, their balance sheet and interest rates.
