S&P Futures Opening Update as on 13 October 2017

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,551.25 for up with +0.07% percent or +1.75 point. Other U.S. stock futures are higher in pre-market trading for Friday, October 13. The Dow Futures are trading at 22,818.50  for up  with +0.09% percent or +20.50 point. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 6,079.13 for up with +0.07% percent or +4.38 point.

FRIDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

U.S. government debt prices were lower Friday, as investors pivoted their attention to another batch of speeches set to be given by leading Federal Reserve members.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note sat higher at around 2.328 percent at 5:25 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was up at 2.857 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.

Following the latest minutes publication of the Federal Open Market Committee’s September meeting, a whole slew of officials from the U.S. central bank are set to deliver remarks Friday.

 Boston Fed President Eric Rosengren is expected to deliver remarks at the Boston Fed’s 61st Economic Conference “Are Rules Made to be Broken? Discretion and Monetary Policy.”

THURSDAY’S ACTIVITY

U.S. market were  lower on Thursday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 22,841.01 with a loss of  –0.14% percent or –31.88 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,550.93  with  a loss of –0.17% percent or – 4.31 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,591.51  with a loss of  –0.18% percent or  –12.04 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,505.16 with a loss of -0.12% percent or -1.76 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 909.43  with a loss of  –0.12% percent or –1.11 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,819.73   with 0.00% percent or  –0.01 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,125.04 with a loss of –0.34% percent or  –3.85 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,514.00 with  a loss of –0.15% percent or –2.30 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,414.56 with a loss of –0.15% percent or –0.15% point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 22,841.01   with a loss of –0.14% percent or –31.88 point.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 28,461.66  for up  with +0.01% percent or  +2.63 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,390.25   for up with  +0.12% percent or  +4.15 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 32,412.50   for up with  +0.72%  percent or +230.28 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 are trading at 7,536.16 with a loss of – 0.27% percent or –20.08 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,999.49   for up with +0.13% percent or  +16.60 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,363.80 for up with +0.06% percent or +3.00 point.
