S&P Futures Opening Update as on 10 May 2018

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,699.75 up with +0.14% percent or +3.75 point. Other U.S. stock futures  lower in pre-market trading for Thursday, May 10. The Dow Futures is trading at 24,527.00 up with +0.10% percent or +24.00 point. The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 6,908.50 up with +0.18% percent or +12.50 point.

THURSDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Chevron and Exxon Mobil both rose more than 1.5 percent, while the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) gained 2 percent. U.S. oil rose 3 percent to settle at $71.14 per barrel.

Trump said Tuesday that the U.S. would be walking away from the Iran deal and that sanctions on the Middle Eastern country would be reinstated. In the run-up to the 2016 presidential election, this was a campaign promise that Trump had pledged.

WEDNESDAY’S ACTIVITY

U.S. market were higher on Wednesday.For the day the Dow is trading at 24,542.54 up with +0.75% percent or +182.33 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,697.79 up with +0.97% percent or +25.87 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,339.91 up  with  +1.00% percent or +73.00 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,596.05 up  with +0.61% percent or +9.66 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 980.13  up with +0.55% percent or  +5.36 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,923.89 up with +0.52% percent or +9.98   point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,185.69 up with +1.02% percent or  +11.92 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,602.58 up with +0.91% percent or +14.52 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,497.08 up with +0.94% percent or +13.95 point;

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 30,842.11 up  with +1.00% percent or +305.97 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,174.26 up  with +0.48% percent or +15.11 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 35,338.00 up with 0.058% percent or +20.41  point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,671.77 up with +0.12% percent or +9.43 point.
