S&P Futures Opening Update as on 13 June 2018

 

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,792.50 up with +0.15% percent or +4.25 point. Other U.S. stock futures  lower in pre-market trading for Wednesday, Jun 13  The Dow Futures is trading at 25,348.00 up with +0.13% percent or +33.00 point.The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,245.50 up with +0.27% percent or +19.25 point.

WEDNESDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Over recent trading sessions, political developments have been keeping investors busy, however on Wednesday, it’s all about the U.S. Federal Reserve for bond markets.

The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) is widely expected to announce that it will raise interest rates with analysts predicting a quarter-point increase. However, the event will also be closely watched as to what the Fed says in regards to the current state of the economy.

The conclusion to the Fed’s two-day meeting comes prior to another central banking event in Europe with the European Central Bank’s governing council holding its own monetary policy meeting on Thursday that investors will be watching to see if it announces anything on the conclusion of quantitative easing.

TUESDAY’S ACTIVITY

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,320.73  with  a loss of –0.0062% percent or –1.58 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,786.85 up with  +0.17% percent or  +4.85 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,703.79 up with +0.57% percent or  +43.87 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,682.30 up with +0.46% percent or +7.62 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 1,041.95 up with +0.084% percent or +0.87 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 2,003.97  up with +0.15% percent or +3.07 9point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,223.67 up with +0.10% percent or +1.24  point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,660.03 up with  +0.22% percent or +3.61  point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,548.46 up with +0.20% percent or +3.05 point;

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,966.38 up with +0.38% percent or +28.03 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 30,791.36 with a loss of –1.00% percent or –309.50 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,049.80 with  a loss of –0.97% percent or –30.01 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 35,804.97 up with +0.31% percent or  +110.87 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,738.96 up with +0.46% percent or –35.41 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 12,864.38 up with +0.17% percent or +22.08 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,467.81 up with +0.26% percent or +14.44 point.
