. government debt prices rose Thursday morning, following a brief sell-off in the previous session as the U.S. Federal Reserve hiked rates and indicated that more would come later this year.
The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note was lower at around 2.9572 percent at 4:17 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was also in the red at 3.0767 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.
On Wednesday, the Fed announced a rate hike of 25 basis points and said there could be two more before the end of the year. The two-year yield hit its highest level since 2008 and the yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note rose to 3 percent, following the announcement.
