S&P Futures Opening Update as on 18 March 2019

 

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,830.62 up with +0.03% percent or +0.87 point. Other U.S. stock futures Mixed in pre-market trading for  March 18. The Dow Futures is trading at 25,824.00  with a loss of -0.29% percent or -75.00 point. The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,347.75 up with +0.06%  percent or +4.50 point.

MONDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

The Federal Reserve will begin its meeting on interest rates on Tuesday, which ends with a news conference on Wednesday. The Federal Reserve is expected to lower their interest rate forecasts — or “dot plots” — to show little or no further tightening in 2019.

On the data front, the calendar is thin with only the Biz leader’s survey and the NAHB survey due at 8.30 and 10 a.m. ET, respectively.

On the auctions front, there will be 3-month and a 6-month bills on sale.

FRIDAY’S ACTIVITY

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,848.87 up with +0.54% percent or +138.93 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,822.48 up with +0.50% percent or +14.00 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,688.53 up with +0.76% percent or +57.62 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,553.54 up with +0.25% percent or +3.90 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 947.25 up with +0.048% percent or +0.45 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,895.86  up with +0.18% percent or +3.42 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,247.48  up with +0.54% percent or +6.71 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,665.84 up with +0.45% percent or +7.48 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,564.23 up with +0.47% percent or +7.26 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere,  Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,584.50 up with +0.62% percent or +133.65 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 29,298.97  up with +0.99% percent or +286.71  point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,094.80  up with +2.42% percent or +73.05 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 38,032.99  up with +0.023% percent or +8.67 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,275.35 up with +0.65% percent or +47.06 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 11,664.04 with   a loss of -0.19% percent or  -21.65 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,408.05   up with +0.051% percent or +2.73 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 381.54 up with +0.12% percent or +0.43  point.
