S&P Futures Opening Update as on 20 May 2019

 

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,849.12  with a loss of -0.45% percent or -12.88 point.Other U.S. stock futures lower in pre-market trading for  May 20. The Dow Futures is trading at 25,689.00 with a loss of -0.35% percent or -91.00 point.The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,433.50 with a loss of -1.04% percent or -78.00 point.

MONDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Market participants are likely to closely monitor a flurry of speeches from policymakers at the U.S. central bank. Fed Chair Jerome Powell, Philadelphia Fed President Patrick Harker and Vice Chair Richard Clarida are all set to comment on the world’s largest economy at separate events on Monday.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Treasury is set to auction $36 billion in 13-week bills and $36 billion in 26-week bills.

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,764.00 with a loss of -0.38% percent or -98.68   point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,859.53 with a loss of -0.58% percent or -16.79 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,816.28 with a loss of -1.04% percent or -81.76 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,535.76  with a loss of -1.38% percent or -21.48 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 934.56 with a loss of -1.56% percent or -14.78 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,889.40 with a loss of -1.15% percent or -22.01 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,267.41 with a loss of -0.54% percent or -6.91 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,683.93 with a loss of -0.69% percent or -11.67 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,583.91  with a loss of -0.64% or -10.14 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,301.73 up with +0.24% percent or +51.64 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 27,763.39 with a loss of -0.66% percent or -178.29   point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,855.45  with a loss of -0.93% percent or -26.84 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 38,949.72 up with +2.69% percent or +1,018.95 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,289.34  with a loss of -0.81% percent or -59.28 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 12,101.35 with a loss of -1.12% percent or  -137.59 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,375.24 with a loss of -1.16% percent or -62.99 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 378.09 with a loss of -0.90% percent or -3.53 point.
