US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,389.25 with a loss of  -0.25% percent. Other U.S. stock futures are lower in pre-market trading for Thursday, May 11. The Dow Futures are trading at 20,855.50 with a loss of  -0.22% percent . The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 5,656.12  with a loss of -0.34% percent.

THURSDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

U.S. stock index futures pointed to a lower open on Thursday after the Nasdaq notched a record close and a five-day winning streak.

But tech stocks could come under pressure after Snap posted revenue that missed estimates and slower-than-expected revenue growth. The stock slumped more than 20 percent in after-hours trading.

Reaction to President Donald Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey was largely muted as many investors still believe the market will get tax reform at some point.

 On the earnings front, Nordstrom, CyberArk Software and Invitation Homes are due to report after the bell.

On the data front, the producer price index rose 0.5 percent in April, more than the expected increase of 0.2 percent. Initial jobless claims, meanwhile, totaled 236,000, below the expected 245,000.

U.S. market indexes were mixed on Wednesday. For the day the S&P 500 closed at 2,399.63 for up with +0.11% percent. The Dow Jones Industrial closed at 20,943.11  with a loss of  –0.16%% percent. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,129.14 for up with  +0.14% percent.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,399.59 for up with  +0.56% percent; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 851.31 for up with + 0.48% percent; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,738.56 for up with  0.62% percent; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,059.10 with a loss of  –0.14% percent; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,422.46 for up with  +0.16% percent; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,330.22 for up with +0.13% percent; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 20,943.11 with a loss of – 0.16% percent.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 19,961.55 for up with  +0.31% percent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 25,125.55 for up +0.44% percent. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,061.50 for up with +0.29% percent. India’s S&P BSE Sensex closed at 30,250.98 for up with  +0.01% percent. In Europe, the FTSE 100 are trading at 7,382.12 with a loss of –0.05% percent. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,720.98 with a loss of –0.29% percent. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,376.25 with a loss of0.45% percent. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 394.58  with a loss of  -0.49% percent.
