US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,383.75 with a loss of -0.55% percent. Other U.S. stock futures are lower in pre-market trading for wednesday, May 17. The Dow Futures are trading at 20,828.50 with a loss of -0.51% percent . The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 5,693.62 with a loss of -0.54%   percent.

WEDNESDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

U.S. government debt prices were higher on Wednesday on concerns over U.S. President Trump involvement in an FBI investigation.

Investors are on the search for safety rushed to the yen, sending the dollar to a six-month low.

The yield on the 10-year Treasury notes, which moves inversely to price, was higher at around 2.285 percent, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was also higher at 2.959.

In oil markets, Brent crude traded at around $52.07 a barrel on Wednesday, up 0.81 percent, while U.S. crude was around $48.97 a barrel, up 0.64 percent.

U.S. market indexes were mixed on Tuesday. For the day the S&P 500 closed at 2,400.67 with a loss of 0.07% percent. The Dow Jones Industrial closed at 20,979.75 with a loss of  0.01% percent. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,169.87 for up with  +0.33% percent.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 19,814.88 with a loss of 0.53% percent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 25,293.63 with a loss 0.17% percent. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,104.44 with a loss of –0.27% percent. India’s S&P BSE Sensex closed at 30,658.77 for up with  0.25% percent. In Europe, the FTSE 100 are trading at 7,508.72  with a loss of  –0.18% percent. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,752.01 with a loss of 0.41% percent.
