S&P Futures Opening Update as on 04 July 2017

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,429.50 for up with +0.19% percent or +4.50 point. Other U.S. stock futures are lower in pre-market trading for Tuesday, July 04. The Dow Futures are trading at 21,450.00 for up with +0.07% percent or +14.00 point. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 5,611.62 for up with +0.40% percent or +22.37 point.

TUESDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Stock futures were higher on Tuesday, July 4, in what looked to be a quiet, shortened trading session ahead of the Independence Day break.

 S&P 500 futures rose 0.31%, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures climbed 0.31%, and Nasdaq futures were up 0.34%.
 U.S. stocks closed June on a mixed note, with the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average both notching new records during the month while the Nasdaq had its first negative month since October 2016. The S&P 500 gained 0.33% in June, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose more than 1%. The Nasdaq ended 0.9% lower, dragged by a flagging tech sector.

For the day The S&P 500 closed at 2,429.01 for up with +0.23% percent or +5.60 point.  the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 21,479.27 for up with +0.61% percent or +129.64 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,110.06 with a loss of –0.49% percent or -30.36 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,426.68 for up with + 0.80% percent or +11.32 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 863.34 for up with +0.88% percent or +7.49 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,758.04 for up with +0.65% percent or +11.39 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,070.50 for up with +0.26% percent or +2.79 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,441.00 for up with of +0.29% percent or +4.18 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,346.86 for up with +0.25% percent or +3.34 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 21,479.27 for up with +0.61% percent or  129.64 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 20,032.35  with a loss of -0.12% percent or -23.45 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 25,389.01 with a loss of -1.53% percent or -395.16 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,182.80 with a loss of -0.41% percent or -13.11 point. India’s S&P BSE Sensex are trading at 31209.79 with a loss of -0.04% percent or -11.83 point at 12:26 PM. In Europe, the FTSE 100 are trading at 7374.89  with a loss of -0.03% percent or -2.20 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,457.31 with a loss of -0.14% percent or -18.00 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,185.76 with a loss of –0.19% percent or  -9.96 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 383.01 with a loss of -0.10% percent or -0.40 point.
