US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,471.00 with a loss of -0.01% percent or -0.25 point. Other U.S. stock futures are lower in pre-market trading for Friday, July 21. The Dow Futures are trading at 21,562.50 with a loss of -0.09% percent or -18.50 point. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 5,916.00 with a loss of – 0.16% percent or -9.25 point.

FRIDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

U.S. government debt prices were higher on Friday, as investors continued to digest decisions and comments made by the European Central Bank (ECB) on Thursday.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note sat in the red at around 2.244 percent at 5.30 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was also down at 2.813 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.

With no major data set to be released on Friday, investors are likely to still be digesting the latest comments from the ECB and its president Mario Draghi, delivered on Thursday.

 On Thursday, the central bank held fire on interest rates and asset purchases, amid speculation that the institution would begin to scale back its ultra-loose monetary policy later this year.
