S&P Futures Opening Update as on 14 August 2017

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,453.00 for up with  +0.53% percent or +13.25 point. Other U.S. stock futures are higher in pre-market trading for Monday, August 14. The Dow Futures are trading at 21,942.00 for up with  +0.41% percent or +94.00 point. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 5,868.25 for up with  +0.51% percent or +30.00 point.

MONDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

U.S. Treasury yields rose on Monday as investors kept an ear out for any news surrounding geopolitics.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note rose to 2.224 percent at 6:51 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was higher at 2.818 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.

With no major data or speeches by the U.S. Federal Reserve set to take place on Monday, investors are likely to be turning their attention to the auctions space.

 When it comes to geopolitics, North Korea tensions may have eased slightly after U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and U.S. Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis stated that the current U.S. administration would continue to pursue diplomatic resolutions with Pyongyang.

U.S. market were higher on Friday. For the day The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 21,858.32 for up with  +0.07% percent or +14.31 point.The S&P 500 closed at 2,441.32 for up with +0.13% percent or  +3.11 point.The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,256.56 for up with + 0.64% percent or +39.68 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,374.23 for up with   +1.69 percent or +0.12% point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 831.01 with a loss of –0.04% percent or –0.32 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,711.05 for up with  +0.19% percent or +3.22 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,081.80 for up with  +0.18% percent or  +1.91 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,441.34 for up with  +0.15% percent or  +2.18 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,351.33 for up with   +0.15% percent or  +2.07 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 21,858.32 for up with   +0.07% percent or +14.31 point.

WORLD MARKETS

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 19,537.10 with a loss of –0.98% percent or –192.64 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 27,215.23 for up with   +1.23% percent or  +331.72 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,236.77 for up with   +0.88% percent or  +28.23 point. India’s S&P BSE Sensex are trading at 31,466.43 for up with  +0.81% percent or +252.84 point at 12:15 PM. In Europe, the FTSE 100 are trading at 7,351.05 for up with  +0.56% percent or +41.09 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,133.85 for up with  +1.00% percent or +119.79 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,108.32 for up with   +0.94% percent or +47.41 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 375.25 for up with  +0.84% percent or  +3.11 point.
