FRIDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS
U.S. government debt prices were slightly lower on Friday, as investors awaited more news out of the monetary policy symposium taking place at Jackson Hole.
The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note sat slightly higher at around 2.195 percent at 6.20 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was just above the flatline at 2.768 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.
Friday marks the second day of the 2017 Economic Policy Symposium on “Fostering a Dynamic Global Economy” at Jackson Hole, where leading central bankers are meeting.
