US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,500.38 for up with +0.20% percent or +4.88 point. Other U.S. stock futures are higher in pre-market trading for wednesday, September 27. The Dow Futures are trading at 22,281.50 for up with +0.10% percent or +22.50 point. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 5,908.88 for up with +0.28% percent or +13.38 point.

WEDNESDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

U.S. government debt prices were lower on Wednesday morning as investors digested comments from Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury notes, which moves inversely to price, was higher at around 2.2961 percent, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was also higher at 2.8324 percent.

Yellen warned during a speech on Tuesday that it could be risky moving “too gradually” with interest rates in the U.S.

Bond investors will also be looking for details from President Donald Trump, who is due to speak on his plans for tax cuts Wednesday. The much-anticipated tax reform package is expected to be presented during a speech in Indianapolis, at 3 p.m. ET.

The S&P 500 closed at 2,496.84   for up with +0.01% percent or +0.18 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,380.16 for up with +0.15% percent or +9.57 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,456.86 for up with  +0.34% percent or +4.91 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 881.77 for up with +0.51% percent or  +4.47 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,773.71 for up with  +0.10% percent or +1.86 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,103.21  with a loss of  –0.04% percent or –0.39 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,480.46 for up with +0.03% percent or +0.43 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,384.42 with 0.00%  percent or +0.05 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 22,284.32 with a loss of –0.05%  percent or –11.77 point.
