US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,527.50  with a loss of -0.06% percent or -1.50 point. Other U.S. stock futures are lower in pre-market trading for Tuesday, October 03. The Dow Futures are trading at 22,536.00 with a loss of -0.04% percent or -9.00 point. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 5,984.38 with +0.06% percent or +3.88 point.

TUESDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

.S. government debt prices were lower Tuesday as investors turned their attention to the latest comments from a governor at the U.S. Federal Reserve.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note sat higher at around 2.360 percent at 6.00 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was up at 2.898 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.

Looking to the U.S. central bank, Fed Governor Jerome Powell is expected to deliver remarks at a Reuters Conversation on U.S. financial regulation, where he is due to speak on regulatory reform.

 Elsewhere in central bank news, the Reserve Bank of Australia chose to keep its rates unchanged Tuesday, with the institution’s governor saying in a statement that the central bank expects economic growth to gradually pick up over the coming year.

The S&P 500 closed at 2,529.12   for up with +0.39% percent or +9.76 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,516.72  for up with +0.32% percent or +20.76 point.
