US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,547.00 for up with +0.13% percent or +3.25 point. Other U.S. stock futures are higher in pre-market trading for Tuesday, October 10. The Dow Futures are trading at 22,748.50 for up  with +0.17% percent or +37.50 point. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 6,075.38 for up with +0.18% percent or +10.88 point.

TUESDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

U.S. government debt prices were higher Thuesday, as investors turned their attention to the U.S. central bank, where leading members are set to deliver remarks.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note sat lower at around 2.326 percent at 5:10 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was down at 2.869 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.

News out of the U.S. central bank is set to dominate sentiment Thursday, as a number of officials from the U.S. Federal Reserve are set to speak during the day.

 Fed Governor Jerome Powell will be in New York, where he is likely to weigh-in on treasury markets at the “TMPG Best Practices: A Look Back and a Look Ahead” event.

U.S. market were  lower on Monday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 22,761.07  with  a loss of –0.06% percent or  –12.60 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,544.73    with a loss of –0.18% percent or  –4.60 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,579.73  with –0.16% percent or   –10.45 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,503.56   with a loss of -0.44% percent or -6.66 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 910.72 with  a loss of –0.48% percent or  – 4.38 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,813.17   with a loss of –0.29% percent or  –5.26 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,123.61  with a loss of  –0.13% percent or  –1.42 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,510.49  with a loss of  –0.21% percent or –3.19 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,411.14  with a loss of –0.19% percent or –2.71 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 22,761.07  with a loss of –0.06% percent or –12.60 point.
