S&P Futures Opening Update as on 17 October 2017

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,555.50 with a loss of -0.03% percent or -0.75 point. Other U.S. stock futures are mixed in pre-market trading for Tued, October 17. The Dow Futures are trading at 22,903.0 for up  with +0.02%  percent or +5.0  point. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 6,118.63 with a loss of -0.03% percent or -1.62 point.

TUESDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

U.S. government debt prices were slightly lower Tuesday, as investors pivoted their attention to a new batch of economic data set to come out throughout the trading day.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note sat higher at around 2.310 percent at 5:00 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was up at 2.827 percent. Bond yields move 3inversely to prices.

Data is set to be a key mover and shaker for bond markets Tuesday, with a whole slew of financial releases expected to be published.

 Import prices and the business leaders survey are both due out at 8:30 a.m. ET, followed by industrial production at 9:15 a.m. ET.

MONDAY’S ACTIVITY

U.S. market were  higher on Monday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 22,956.96   for up with   +0.37% percent or  +85.24 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,557.64   for up with +0.18% percent or +4.47 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,624.00  for up with +0.28% percent or  +18.20 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,502.68 with 0.00% percent or +0.02 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 908.14   with a loss of  –0.03% percent or –0.23 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,819.46  for up with +0.04% percent or +0.64 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,129.29  for up with +0.28% percent or +3.13 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,517.15 for up with  +0.15% percent or  +2.26 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,417.95 for up with +0.16% percent or +2.28 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 22,956.96   for up with +0.37% percent or +85.24 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere,   Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 21,336.12  for up with +0.38% percent or +80.56 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 28,697.49  for up  with +0.02% percent or  +4.69 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,372.04 with a loss of – 0.19% percent or  –6.43 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 32,643.42   for up with  +0.03%  percent or +9.78point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 are trading at 7,546.54 for up with +0.26% percent or +19.57 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 13,008.44   for up with +0.04% percent or  4.74 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at CAC 40  with a loss of  –0.03% percent or –1.73 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 391.16 with a loss of -0.05% percent or  -0.22   point.
