S&P Futures Opening Update as on 31 October 2017

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,571.50 for up  with +0.13% percent or +3.25 point. Other U.S. stock futures are higher in pre-market trading for  Tuesday, October 31. The Dow Futures are trading at 23,315.00 for up  with +0.10% percent or +24.00 point. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 6,237.38 with +0.21% percent or +13.13 point.

TUESDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

U.S. government debt prices were lower Tuesday as investors geared up for a flood of fresh economic data, while keeping a close eye on the U.S. central bank space.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note sat higher at around 2.370 percent at 6:05 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was up at 2.881 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.

A downpour of data is expected to shake up investor sentiment on the second trading day of the week. First off, the employment cost index is set to come out at 8:30 a.m. ET, followed by the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Index at 9 a.m. ET.

MONDAY’S ACTIVITY

U.S. market were lower on Monday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 23,348.74  with a loss of  –0.36% percent or –85.45 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,572.83  with a loss of –0.32% percent or  –8.24point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,698.96  with a loss of  –0.03% percent or –2.30 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,490.90 with a loss of -1.15% percent or -17.42 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 903.48  with a loss of –1.41% percent or –12.95 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,825.43  with a loss of –0.74% percent or  –13.69 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,136.75 with  a loss of –0.29% percent or –3.34 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,523.63  with a loss of  –0.41% percent or  –6.20 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,425.44  with a loss of  –0.34% percent or –4.91 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 23,348.74  with a loss of –0.36% percent or –85.45 point.

WORLD MARKETS

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere,  Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 22,011.61 with 0.00% percent or –0.06 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 28,330.50 with a loss of –0.02% percent or  –5.69 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,393.34 for up  with +0.09% percent or +3.00  point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 33,268.14 for up with +0.01% percent or +2.10 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 are trading at 7,491.03 for up with +0.04%percent or +3.22 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 13,229.57 for up with +0.09% percent or +12.03 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,497.89 for up  with +0.08% percent or +4.27 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 394.58 for up  with  +0.17% percent or  +0.67 point.
