US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,689.25 for up with +0.08% percent or +2.25 point. Other U.S. stock futures are higher in pre-market trading for Wednesday, December 27. The Dow Futures are trading at 24,807.00 for up with  of +0.06% percent or +15.00 point. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 6,469.25 for up  with +0.14% percent or +9.25 point.

WEDNESDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

U.S. government debt prices were lower on Wednesday, as investors turn their attention to fresh economic data as the year draws to a close.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note was higher at around 2.472 percent at 5:40 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was up at 2.813 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.

Investors stateside will be paying close attention to the latest economic data. At 7 a.m. ET, routine mortgage applications are due out, followed by consumer confidence and pending home sales, both of which are set to be released at 10 a.m. ET. Meantime at 10:30 a.m. ET, the Dallas Fed’s Texas service sector outlook survey is expected to be released.

U.S. market were lower on Tuesday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 24,746.21 with  a loss of –0.03% percent or  –7.85 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,680.50 with a loss of –0.11% percent or  –2.84 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,936.25 with a loss of –0.34% percent or  –23.71 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,544.23 for up with  +0.08% percent or +1.30 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 940.27 for up with +0.10% percent or +0.93 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,905.73 for up with +0.06% percent or +1.15 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,186.62 with a loss of -0.20% percent or -2.40 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,587.00 with a loss of –0.08% percent or  –1.25 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,485.40 with a loss of -0.09% percent or -1.37 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 24,746.21 with a loss of –0.03% percent or –7.85 point.
