S&P Futures Opening Update as on 23 March 2018

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,628.25  with a loss of -0.57% percent or -15.00 point. Other U.S. stock futures are lower in pre-market trading for Friday, March 23. The Dow Futures are trading at 23,786.00  with a loss of –0.74% percent or -177.00 point. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 6,626.00  with a loss of -0.99%  percent or -66.00 point.

FRIDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

In the previous session, the yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note fell the most in six months Thursday, as concerns over a potential global trade dispute prompted markets to sell-off around the globe.

 On Thursday, President Donald Trump signed an executive memorandum that would inflict tariffs on Chinese imports — of up to $60 billion. The measures were designed to penalize the consumer nation, with the U.S. administration stating that China’s trade practices had involved stealing U.S. companies’ intellectual property.

THURSDAY’S ACTIVITY

U.S. market were lower on Thursday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 23,957.89   with a loss of -2.93% percent or  -724.42 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,643.69 with a loss of -2.52% percent or -68.24 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 7,166.68  with a loss of -2.43% percent or  -178.61 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,543.87  with a loss of -2.24%percent or -35.43 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 943.41  with a loss of -2.15% percent or -20.74 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,875.86 with a loss of -2.54% percent or  -48.83 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,157.91   with a loss of -2.66% percent or -31.62 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,568.72 with a loss of -2.48% percent or  -39.85 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,466.92 with a loss of -2.50% percent or -37.56 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 23,957.89  with a loss of -2.93% percent or -724.42 point.
