S&P Futures Opening Update as on 26 April 2018

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures is trading at  2,644.00  with a loss of -0.02% percent or -0.50 point. Other U.S. stock futures  lower in pre-market trading for Thursday, April 26. The Dow Futures is trading at 24,059.00 with a loss of -0.08% percent or -21.00 point. The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 6,578.75 up  with +0.35% percent or +23.00 point.

THURSDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

U.S. government debt yields continued their upward climb Thursday, with the rate on the 10-year Treasury note edging above the 3 percent benchmark it hit Tuesday for the first time since 2014.

The yield on the two-year Treasury yield also extended its gains, up to over 2.5 percent and its highest level since September 2008.

The 10-year Treasury note yield was higher at around 3.028 percent at 2:38 a.m. ET, down from 3.033 percent hit earlier in the session, its highest level since January 2, 2014. The next key technical level for the 10-year yield is 3.05 percent, which would put the yield at its highest level since 2011.

WEDNESDAY’S ACTIVITY

U.S. market were higher on Wednesday.For the day the Dow is trading at 24,083.83 up with +0.25% percent or +59.70 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,639.40 up with +0.18% percent or +4.84  point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,003.74 with a loss of -0.052% percent or -3.62 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,550.47  with a loss of -0.18% percent or -2.81 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 955.03  with a loss of -0.24% percent or -2.34 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,888.01 up with +0.06% percent or +1.19 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,155.38  up with +0.13% percent or +1.54 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,566.31 up with +0.12% percent or +1.95 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,463.95  up with +0.15% percent or +2.20 point;

WORLD MARKETS

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere,Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,319.61 up with +0.47% percent or +104.29  point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 29,910.72  with a loss of -1.38% percent or -418.36  point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,072.48  with a loss of -1.46% percent or  -45.50 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 34,545.78 up with +0.13% percent or +44.51  point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,369.65  with a loss of -0.13% percent or -9.67 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 12,445.87  up with +0.19% percent or +23.38  point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,423.85 up with +0.20% percent or +10.56 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 380.31 up with +0.02% percent or +0.11 point.
