S&P Futures Opening Update as on 06 June 2018

 

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,773.50 up with +0.80% percent or +22.00 point. Other U.S. stock futures  higher in pre-market trading for Wednesday, Jun 06  The Dow Futures is trading at 25,153.00 up with +1.33% percent or 331.00 point.The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,217.25 up with +0.53% percent or +38.00 point.

WEDNESDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Stocks rose on Wednesday as bank shares rallied on higher interest rates, while Boeing rose.

Tech has been on fire recently, rising more than 6 percent over the past month to a record high. The best-performing tech names over that time include chipmakers Advanced Micro Devices, Micron Technology and Microchip Technology. PayPal, Electronic Arts and Facebook are also up sharply over the past month.

“It’s interesting because, over the past few years, you’ve seen tech perform as a defensive sector,” said Quincy Krosby, chief market strategist at Prudential Financial. “What we’re seeing are concerns about global growth as overseas data have, overall, suggested moderation outside of the U.S.”

TUESDAY’S ACTIVITY

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,098.44 with +1.20% percent or +298.46 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,766.96 up with  +0.66% percent or  +18.16 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,675.60 up with +0.49% percent or  +37.74 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,675.95 up with +0.68% percent or +11.32 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 1,039.13 up with +0.57% percent or +5.89 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,989.56  up  with +0.77% percent or +15.22 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,219.18 up with  +0.93% percent or +11.26 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,651.26 up with +0.85% percent or + 13.88 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,540.08 up with +0.86% percent or +13.16 point;

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 31,259.10 up with +0.53% percent or +165.65 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,115.18  up with +0.031% percent or +0.97 point.
