S&P Futures Opening Update as on 16 July 2018

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,805.50 up with +0.08% percent or +2.25 point. Other U.S. stock futures  higher in pre-market trading for Monday, July 16. The Dow Futures is trading at 25,052.00 up with +0.19% percent or +48.00 point.The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,409.25 up with +0.22% percent or +16.25 point.

MONDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

In economic data, retail sales and the Empire State Manufacturing survey are due out at 8:30 a.m. ET, followed by business inventories at 10 a.m. ET. Wall Street, meanwhile, will be turning its attention to fresh earnings news.

The U.S. Treasury will auction $51 billion in 13-week bills and $45 billion in 26-week bills. The size of a four-week bill, set to be auctioned Tuesday, will also be announced.

President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet in Helsinki, Finland, on Monday, to discuss a range of topics including the fragile relationship between their two nations and security issues.

The meeting comes three days after the U.S. Justice Department announced that special counsel Robert Mueller had secured an indictment charging a dozen Russian intelligence officers with hacking Democrats to interfere in the 2016 U.S. election and with stealing information of around half a million U.S. voters.

FRIDAY’S ACTIVITY

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,019.41 up with +0.38% percent or +94.52 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,801.31 up with +0.11% percent or +3.02 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,825.98 up with +0.026% percent or +2.06 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,687.08  with a loss of -0.19% percent or -3.20 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 1,045.81  with a loss of  -0.079% percent or -0.83 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,996.35  with a loss of  -0.019% percent or -0.38 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,235.91 up with +0.098% percent or +1.21 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,667.36 up with +0.065% percent or +1.08  point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,555.46 up with +0.086% percent or +1.34 point;

WORLD MARKETS

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,597.35 up with +1.85% percent or +409.39 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,533.61 up with +0.029% percent or +8.17 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,814.04 with  a loss of -0.61% percent or -17.14 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 36,487.65  with  a loss of -0.15% percent or -53.98 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,619.81  with a loss of  -0.55% percent or -42.29 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 12,562.11   up with +0.17% percent or +21.38 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,426.52  with a loss of  -0.049% percent or -2.68 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 385.31 up with +0.06% percent or +0.24 point.
