S&P Futures Opening Update as on 11 March 2019

  

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,754.62  up with +0.10% percent or +2.62 point. Other U.S. stock futures mixed in pre-market trading for  March 11. The Dow Futures is trading at 25,362.50  with a loss of -0.65% percent or -165.50 point.  The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,070.00 up with +0.23%  percent or +14.63 point.

MONDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

U.S. stock index futures traded lower on Monday, with Dow industrial component Boeing falling sharply following the weekend crash of an Ethiopian Airlines 737 Max 8 jet.

worries about signs of slowing in the U.S. economy continued to weigh on the market. Data on Friday showed the world’s largest economy added just 20,000 jobs in February versus an expected gain of 180,000 — marking the weakest month of jobs creation since September 2017.

The report came amid growing concern about the global economy. Data out of China last week showed its exports slumped 20.7 percent from a year earlier, far below analysts’ expectations and wiping out a surprise jump in January

FRIDAY’S ACTIVITY

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,450.24 with a loss of -0.090% percent or -22.99 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,743.07 with a loss of -0.21% percent or -5.86 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,408.14  with a loss of -0.18% percent or -13.32 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,521.88 with a loss of -0.11% percent or -1.74 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 934.18 with a loss of -0.17% percent or -1.55 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,860.28  with a loss of -0.28% percent or -5.26 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,211.04   with a loss of -0.15% percent or -1.84 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,620.70 with a loss of -0.21% percent or -3.36 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,521.03 with a loss of -0.21% percent or -3.26 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,125.09  up with +0.47% percent or +99.53point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,451.14  up with +0.79% percent or +222.72  point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,026.99  up with +1.92% percent or +57.13 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 36,985.62  up with +0.86% percent or +314.19 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,156.18  up with +0.73% percent or +51.87 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 11,486.82  up with  +0.25% percent or  +28.64 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,243.56   up with +0.24% percent or +12.35 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 371.86 with a loss of -0.55% percent or -2.04 point.
