S&P Futures Opening Update as on 21 June 2019



The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,953.62  with a loss of -0.22% percent or -6.38 point.   Other U.S. stock futures lower in pre-market trading for  June 21.  The Dow Futures is trading at 26,730.50 with a loss of  -0.16% percent or -43.50 point.The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,743.50 with a loss of -0.38% percent or -29.25 point.


U.S. government debt prices were lower Friday morning as market players monitor growing tensions between the United States and Iran.

At around 04:10 a.m. ET, the yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note, which moves inversely to price, was higher at around 2.035%, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was higher at around 2.537%.

According to the New York Times, President Donald Trump approved military strikes on several Iranian targets, but abruptly pulled back from launching the attacks. U.S. officials said Thursday that an Iranian missile had shot down an unmanned U.S. surveillance drone.


For the day the Dow is trading at 26,753.17 up with +0.94% percent or +249.17 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,954.18 up with +0.95% percent or +27.72 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 8,051.34   up with +0.80% percent or +64.02 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,563.49 up with +0.51% percent or +7.92 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 945.14 up with +0.74% percent or +6.98 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,939.94 up with +0.67% percent or +12.99 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,305.05 up with +0.99% percent or +12.73 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,737.39  up with +0.89% percent or +15.32 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,635.81  up with +0.92% or +14.88 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,258.64 with a loss of -0.95% percent or -204.22 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,473.71  with a loss of -0.27% percent or -76.72    point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,001.98 up with +0.50% percent or +14.86  point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 39,258.37 with a loss of -0.87% percent or -343.26 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,431.76 up with +0.099% percent or +7.32 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 12,329.72  with a loss of -0.21% percent or -25.67 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,534.29 with a loss of -0.023% percent or –1.27 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 384.97  with a loss of -0.31% percent or -1.10   point.
