S&P Futures Opening Update as on 25 July 2019


The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 3,019.62  with a loss of  -0.05% percent or -1.38point.  Other U.S. stock futures lower in pre-market trading for  July 25. The Dow Futures is trading at 27,276.50  up with +0.15% percent or +39.50 point. The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 8,009.38  with a loss of -0.34% percent or -27.62 point.


The European Central Bank (ECB) is set to announce its latest monetary policy decision Thursday, with some traders speculating that President Mario Draghi could revise the central bank’s guidance to signal a September rate cut.

The U.S. Federal Reserve’s Federal Open Markets Committee (FOMC) meets to decide interest rates next week, with many analysts pricing in a 25 basis point cut.

The U.S. Treasury is set to auction for $35 billion in four-week and $35 billion in eight-week bills on Thursday.

In terms of data, last week’s jobless claims figures are due at 8:30 a.m. ET, along with June’s durable goods and advance economic indicators. Second-quarter housing vacancies data is due at 10:00 a.m. ET while July’s Kansas City Fed survey is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. ET.


For the day the Dow is trading at 27,269.97 with a loss of -0.29% percent or -79.22 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 3,019.56 up with +0.47% percent or +14.09 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 8,321.50 up  with +0.85% percent or +70.10 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,580.42  up with +1.64% percent or +25.46 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 962.84 up with +1.68% percent or +15.92 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,983.80  up with +1.41% percent or +27.60 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,334.49 up with +0.45% percent or +6.00 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,776.43  up with +0.61% percent or +10.81 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,673.93  up with +0.54% or +8.99 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,756.55   up with +0.22% percent or +46.98 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,583.19  up with +0.21% percent or +59.15 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,937.36 up with +0.48% percent or +14.08 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,827.23   with a loss of -0.054%percent or -20.42 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,508.02  up with +0.087% percent or +6.55 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 12,506.01  with a loss of -0.14% percent or -17.78 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,619.94  up with +0.25% percent or +14.08 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 392.16    up with +0.09% percent or +0.37 point.
