S&P Futures Opening Update as on 20 August 2019

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,924.38 up with +0.02% percent or +0.63 point. Other U.S. stock futures higher in pre-market trading for  August 20. The Dow Futures is trading at 26,122.50 up with +0.02% percent or +4.50 point. The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,736.25 up with  +0.11% percent or +8.75 point.

TUESDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Market participants were cheered by signs policymakers appeared willing to do more to support their economies amid international trade frictions, led by a protracted dispute between the U.S. and China.

It comes at a time when reports suggest that Germany is preparing to increase fiscal spending, and after China’s central bank took steps to lower borrowing costs.

MONDAY’S ACTIVITY

For the day the Dow is trading at 26,135.79 up with +0.96% percent or  +249.78  point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,923.65 up with +1.21% percent or +34.97 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 8,002.81  up with +1.35% percent or +106.82 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,508.85 up with +1.02% percent or +15.21 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 929.36 up with +1.06% percent or +9.74 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,891.71 up with +0.99% percent or +18.49 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,291.29 up  with +1.26% percent or +16.10 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,715.46 up with +1.15% percent or +19.54 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,617.78 up with +1.16% or +18.58 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 20,677.22 up with +0.55% percent or +114.06point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 26,231.54 with a loss of –0.23% percent or –60.30 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,880.00 with a loss of –0.11% percent or –3.09 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,423.47 up with +0.056% percent or +20.98 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,220.27  up with +0.43% percent or +30.62 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 11,709.41 with a loss of –0.051% percent or –5.96 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,376.50 up with +0.092% percent or +4.95 point.
