S&P Futures Opening Update as on 02 May 2017


The S&P 500 Futures are trading  at 2,388.33 for a gain of +0.17% percent. Other U.S. stock futures are lower in pre-market trading for Tuesday, May 02. The Dow Futures are trading  at 20,913.50 with a  loss of 0.13% percent . The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 5,633.50 for a up with +0.05% percent. The Russell Futures are trading at 1,407.36  for a up with +0.50% percent.


U.S. stock index futures pointed to a mixed open on Tuesday as the Federal Reserve’s open market committee meeting kicks off.

The Fed’s policymaking committee is largely expected to hold rates steady this week. Market expectations for an interest rate hike on Wednesday are just 4.8 percent, according to the CME Group’s FedWatch tool.

The Dow Jones and S&P 500 futures pointed lower, while the Nasdaq was called higher, after closing Monday’s session at an all-time high.

 On the data front, Tuesday will see U.S. auto sales figures for April. The number is expected to come in at an annual rate of 17.2 million, compared with March’s annual rate of 16.6 million.





U.S. market indexes were lower Monday. For the day the S&P 500 closed at 2,388.33 for a up with of 0.17% percent. The Dow Jones Industrial closed at 20,913.46 with a loss of 0.13% percent. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,091.60 for a up with 0.73% percent.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,407.36 for a up with 0.50% percent; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 855.02 for a up with 0.43% percent; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,737.37 for a up with 0.27% percent; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,057.31 for a up with +0.23% percent; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,417.91 for a up with +0.22% percent; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,325.00 for a up with +0.19% percent; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 20,913.46 for a loss of 0.13% percent.


In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading  at 19,445.70 for a up with +0.70% percent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 24,696.13 for a loss of 0.33% percent. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,143.71 for a loss of 0.35% percent. India’s S&P BSE Sensex closed  at 29,921.18 for a up with +0.01% percent. In Europe, the FTSE 100 are trading at 7,251.67 for a up with +0.66% percent. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,466.75 for a up with +0.23% percent. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,292.36 for a up with +0.48% percent. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 388.71 for a up with  +0.54% percent.
