S&P Futures Opening Update as on 05 September 2017

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,467.75 with a loss of -0.26% percent or -6.50 point. Other U.S. stock futures are lower in pre-market trading for Tuesday, September 05. The Dow Futures are trading at 21,917.00 with a loss of -0.29% percent or -63.00 point. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 5,978.25 with a loss of -0.13% percent or -7.50 point.

TUESDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

U.S. government debtyields fell on Tuesday after North Korea conducted its sixth and most powerful nuclear test.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note sat lower at around 2.134 percent at 7:08 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was down at 2.755 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.

A hydrogen bomb is much more powerful than the simpler types of atomic weapons tested by North Korea five times previously, or the bombs dropped on Japan during World War II.

The news was met with condemnation from across the globe, with the G-7 releasing a statement on Monday which said that the leaders condemned the new nuclear test by North Korea “in the strongest possible terms.”

U.S. market were higher on Monday. For the day  The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 21,987.56 for up with +0.59% percent or +8.29 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,476.55 for up with +0.20% percent or +4.90 point.The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,435.33 for up with +0.10% percent or +6.67 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,413.57 for up with +0.59% percent or +8.29 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 847.05 for up with +0.79% percent or +6.62 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,737.79 for up with +0.40% percent or +6.91 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,095.25 for up with +0.13% percent or +1.47 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,465.45 for up with +0.25% percent or +3.64 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,372.65 for up with +0.22% percent or +3.04 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 21,987.56 for up with +0.18% percent or +39.46 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere,  Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 19,385.81 with a loss of –0.63% percent or –122.44 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 27,693.98 with a loss of –0.17% percent or –46.28 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,381.52 for up with +0.06% percent or +1.94 point. India’s S&P BSE Sensex are trading at 31,684.64 with a loss of –0.06% percent or –17.61 point at 12:15 PM. In Europe, The FTSE 100 are trading at 7,407.41 with a loss of –0.05% percent or –4.06 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,174.75 for up with +0.60% percent or +72.54 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,108.78 for up with  +0.09% percent or  +4.81 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 374.77 for up with +0.16% percent or +0.57 point.
