S&P Futures Opening Update as on 24 November 2017

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,599.38 for up with  +0.19% percent or +4.88 point. Other U.S. stock futures are higher in pre-market trading for Friday, November 24. The Dow Futures are trading at 23,515.00 for up  with +0.15% percent or +34.50 point. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 6,396.13 for up with +0.10% percent or +6.63 point.

FRIDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

U.S. government debt prices were lower on Friday, as investors turned their attention to a new batch of economic data.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note sat higher at around 2.345 percent at 5:10 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was up at 2.765 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.

Markets will be opening back up stateside, after taking a day off Thursday for Thanksgiving. Prior to the holiday, the Federal Open Market Committee released minutes from its latest meeting.

THURSDAY’S ACTIVITY

U.S. market were lower on Thursday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 23,526.18 with  a loss of  –0.27% percent or  –64.65 point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,597.08 with a loss of -0.08% percent or –1.95 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,867.36 for up with +0.07% percent or +4.88 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,516.66 with a loss of  -0.15% percent or 2.23 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 925.88 with a loss of -0.21% percent or 1.93 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,857.91 with a loss of -0.06% percent or  -1.05 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,144.50 with  a loss of -0.03% percent or -0.35 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,540.69 with a loss of  –0.07% percent or –1.10 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,440.68 with a loss of –0.07% percent or –0.95 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 23,526.18 with a loss of –0.27% percent or  –64.65 point.

WORLD MARKETS

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 22,550.85 for up with +0.12% percent or  +27.70 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 29,866.32 for up with +0.53% percent or  +158.38 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,353.82 for up with +0.06% percent or  +1.90 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 33,694.08 for up with +0.32% percent or +106.00 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 are trading at 7,416.92  with  0.00% percent or –0.32 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 13,045.13 for up with +0.28% percent or +36.58 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,413.61 for up with +0.65% percent or +34.85 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 388.13 for up with +0.29% percent or  +1.17 point.
