S&P Futures Opening Update as on 11 December 2017

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,657.25 for up with +0.12% percent or +3.25 point. Other U.S. stock futures are higher in pre-market trading for Monday, December 11. The Dow Futures are trading at 24,391.00 for up with +0.23% percent or +55.00 point. The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 6,369.26 for up with +0.17% percent or +10.76 point.

MONDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

U.S. government debt prices edged higher Monday, as investors anticipated the latest Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) data, ahead of an important U.S. central bank meeting due this week.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note sat lower at around 2.374 percent at 5:10 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was down at 2.764 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.

In the previous session, U.S. equities and bond markets were digesting the latest release of the U.S. jobs report. The nonfarm payrolls data for November revealed Friday that the U.S. had added 228,000 jobs last month, beating expectations of 200,000.

FRIDAY’S ACTIVITY

U.S. market were higher on Friday. For the day the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 24,329.16 for up with +0.49% percent or +117.68point. The S&P 500 closed at 2,651.50 for up with +0.55% percent or +14.52 point. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,840.08 for up with +0.40% percent or +27.24 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,521.72 for up with +0.08% percent or +1.26 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 928.11 with a loss of –0.05% percent or –0.42 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,890.86 for up with +0.39% percent or +7.36 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,170.82 for up with +0.53% percent or +6.22 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,569.36 for up with +0.51% percent or +8.01 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,469.31 for up with +0.55% percent or +8.01 point; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 24,329.16 for up with +0.49% percent or +117.68 point.

WORLD MARKETS

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere,Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 22,938.73 for up with +0.56% percent or  +127.65 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 28,965.29 for up with +1.14% percent or +325.44 point. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,322.20 for up with +0.98% percent or +32.20 point. India’s BSE Sensex are trading at 33,441.98 for up with +0.58% percent or  +191.83 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 are trading at 7,437.52 for up with +0.59% percent or +43.56 point. Germany’s DAX are trading at 13,169.35 for up with +0.12% percent or  +15.65 point. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,398.36 with a loss of –0.01% percent or  –0.72 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 389.51 for up with +0.07% percent or +0.27 point.
