TUESDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS
U.S. government debt prices edged lower on Tuesday, ahead of a two-day policy meeting taking place by the U.S. Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC).
The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note sat higher at around 2.3868 percent at 5:00 a.m. ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was up at 2.7754 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.
First off on the data front, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) survey is expected to come out at 6 a.m. ET. This data will then be followed by the producer price index (PPI) data, slated to come out at 8:30 a.m. ET, and the Monthly Treasury Statement — due out at 2 p.m. ET.
