S&P Futures Opening Update as on 30 July 2019

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 3,013.12  with a loss of  -0.30% percent or -9.13 point.  Other U.S. stock futures lower in pre-market trading for  July 30. The Dow Futures is trading at 27,143.00 with a loss of -0.20% percent or -55.00 point. The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,955.62  with a loss of -0.57% percent or -45.63 point.

TUESDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

the yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note, which moves inversely to price, was fractionally below the flatline at around 2.0545%, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond slipped around 0.1% to 2.5805%.

Market focus is largely attuned to the Federal Open Markets Committee (FOMC) meeting next week, with markets pricing in a 25 basis point cut to interest rates. The Fed will announce its decision on Wednesday.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer are set to resume in-person trade negotiations with China on Tuesday in Shanghai, though there is little hope of a resolution in the immediate future.

MONDAY’S ACTIVITY

For the day the Dow is trading at 27,221.35 up with +0.11% percent or +28.90 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 3,020.97 with a loss of -0.16% percent or -4.89 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 8,293.33  with a loss of -0.44% percent or -36.88 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,569.02  with a loss of -0.63% percent or -9.94 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 957.27 with a loss of -0.54% percent or -5.24 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,973.88   with a loss of -0.47% percent or -9.26 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,337.77  with a loss of -0.16% percent or -2.10 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,775.28  with a loss of -0.24% percent or -4.21 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,673.63   with a loss of -0.21% or -3.50 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,709.31  with a loss of -0.43% percent or -92.51 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 28,182.77  up with +0.27% percent or +76.36 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,952.34  up with +0.39% percent or +11.33 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,768.79  up with +0.22% percent or +82.42 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,670.89 with a loss of -0.19% percent or -14.89 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 12,189.66  with a loss of -1.83% percent or -227.81 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,536.29   with a loss of -1.16% percent or -64.81 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 386.63   with a loss of -1.09% percent or -4.27 point.
