S&P Futures Opening Update as on 31 July 2019

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 3,016.12  up with +0.13% percent or +3.87 point.  Other U.S. stock futures higher in pre-market trading for  July 31.  The Dow Futures is trading at 27,221.50 up with +0.20% percent or +55.50 point. The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,987.38 up with +0.29% percent or +23.00 point.

WEDNESDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Stocks fell on Tuesday after President Donald Trump renewed his attacks on China, decreasing hope the two largest world economies will reach a trade deal. Investors also braced for a key announcement on U.S. monetary policy.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 23.33 points lower, or 0.1% at 27,198.02 after dropping as much as 151.49 points. The S&P 500 slipped 0.3% to 3,013.18. The Nasdaq Composite dipped 0.2% to 8,273.61.

Trump said in a series of tweets Tuesday that China is not keeping its promise of buying more U.S. agricultural products. “China is doing very badly,” he wrote. “Worst year in 27 – was supposed to start buying our agricultural product now – no signs that they are doing so. That is the problem with China, they just don’t come through.”

THURSDAY’S ACTIVITY

For the day the Dow is trading at 27,198.02  with a loss of -0.086% percent or -23.33 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 3,013.18 with a loss of -0.26% percent or -7.79 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 8,273.61  with a loss of -0.24% percent or -19.71 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,585.60  up with +1.06% percent or +16.57 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 967.70 up with +1.09% percent or +10.43 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,986.80   up with +0.65% percent or +12.92 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,332.65 with a loss of -0.38% percent or -5.12 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,773.04 with a loss of -0.13% percent or -2.23  point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,670.13   with a loss of -0.21% or -3.50 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,521.53 with a loss of -0.86% percent or -187.78 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 27,777.75  with a loss of -1.31% percent or -368.75 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,932.51  with a loss of -0.67% percent or -19.83 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,448.44  up with +0.14% percent or +51.20 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,596.62 with a loss of -0.66% percent or -50.15 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 12,179.57 up with +0.27% percent or +32.33 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,514.18  up with +0.057% percent or +3.12 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 384.81  with a loss of -0.08% percent or -0.31 point.
