S&P Futures Opening Update as on 08 October 2019

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,918.38 with a loss of -0.65% percent or -19.12 point. Other U.S. stock futures lower in pre-market trading for  october 08.The Dow Futures is trading at 26,255.00 with a loss of -0.70% percent or -184.00 point. The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,685.12 with a loss of -0.71% percent or -54.88 point.

TUESDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

That rocky start to October for investors doesn’t seem ready to ease up soon.

Investors have the jitters on Tuesday, as they keep a beady eye on developments ahead of this week’s U.S. -China trade talks and then another on an earnings season that’s just around the corner.

But now is not the time to run scared, says our call of the day from a nearly 50-year market veteran — Capital Wealth’s market strategist Jeffrey Saut — who has a knack for timing market pullbacks. In an interview with MarketWatch, he insists we are in a secular bull market and the stock rally is far from over.

MONDAY’S ACTIVITY

For the day the Dow is trading at 26,478.02 with a loss of -0.36% percent or  -95.70  point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,938.79 with a loss of -0.45% percent or -13.22 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,956.29  with a loss of -0.33% percent or -26.18 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,497.79  with a loss of – percent or –2.91 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 928.71 with a loss of – percent or –1.75 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,894.05 with a loss of – percent or –9.74 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,301.93 with a loss of – percent or –5.06 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,720.85 with a loss of – percent or 7.02 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,624.05 with a loss of – or 6.87 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,587.78 up with +0.99% percent or  +212.53 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 25,894.49 up with +0.28% percent or +73.46 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,913.57 up with +0.29% percent or +8.38 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,531.98 with a loss of –0.38% percent or  –141.33  point at 12:15 PM. Germany’s DAX is trading at 11,957.51 with a loss of – percent or –139.92 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,463.97 with a loss of – percent or –57.64 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 379.13 with a loss of -0.99% percent or –3.72 point.
