S&P Futures Opening Update as on 07 October 2019


The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,944.12 with a loss of -0.23% percent or -6.88 point. Other U.S. stock futures lower in pre-market trading for  october 07.The Dow Futures is trading at 26,478.00 with a loss of -0.18% percent or -61.50point. The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,749.75 with a loss of -0.23% percent or -17.50 point.


A yield curve inversion? International weakness triggering a broad manufacturing slowdown? A potentially overconfident consumer and a Federal Reserve caught up in a brief interest-rate cutting cycle, regardless of steady GDP growth? And, of course, an impeachment inquiry.

Does this sound like a recipe for a strong fourth-quarter rally?

Well, in 1998, it sure was, says BTIG strategist Julian Emanuel, who points out the similarities between then and now are “too striking” to ignore.


For the day the Dow is trading at 26,573.72 up with +1.42% percent or +372.68  point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,952.01  up with +1.42% percent or +41.38 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,982.47 up with +1.40% percent or +110.21 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,500.70 up with + percent or +14.36 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 930.46 up with + percent or +9.35 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,903.79 up with + percent or +19.17 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,306.99 up with + percent or +19.25 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,727.87 up with + percent or  +23.37 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,630.92 up with + or   +22.51 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,375.25 with a loss of –0.16% percent or  –34.95 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 25,821.03 with a loss of –1.11% percent or  –289.28 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,905.19 with a loss of –0.92% percent or –26.98 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,778.07 up with 0.28% percent or +104.76  point at 12:15 PM. Germany’s DAX is trading at 12,052.65 up with + percent or +39.84 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,500.58 up with + percent or +12.26 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 381.68 up with +0.38% percent or +1.39  point.
