S&P Futures Opening Update as on 10 October 2019

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,913.12 with a loss of -0.20% percent or -5.88 point. Other U.S. stock futures lower in pre-market trading for  october 10.The Dow Futures is trading at 26,333.00 with a loss of -0.17% percent or -45.00 point. The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,685.75 with a loss of -0.18% percent or -14.00 point.

THURSDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Vice Premier Liu He is scheduled to meet with Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin later Thursday in Washington, with the hope that the parties can resolve, at least partially, tensions that have stoked anxieties on Wall Street.

Even as the talks get under way, it remains unclear if a substantive agreement can be achieved.

Markets had been whipsawed by late reports from the South China Morning Post on Wednesday, which suggested that Liu and the China delegation would leave Washington on Thursday, a day earlier than had been planned. However, a White House spokesperson later told CNBC that there were no changes to plans of the Beijing representatives.

WEDNESDAY’S ACTIVITY

For the day the Dow is trading at 26,346.01 up with +0.70% percent or  +181.97  point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,919.40 up with +0.91% percent or +26.34 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,903.74 up with +1.02% percent or +79.96 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,479.46 up with + percent or +6.86 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 916.17 up with + percent or +3.53 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,873.79 up with + percent or +12.93 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,294.12 up with + percent or +11.30 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,708.22 up with + percent or  +14.94 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,612.69 up with + or +14.56 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 21,551.98 up with +0.45% percent or +95.60 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 25,702.51 up with +0.077% percent or  +19.70 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,947.71 up with +0.78% percent or +22.85 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 37,868.84  with a loss of –0.81% percent or –309.11  point at 12:15 PM. Germany’s DAX is trading at 12,085.51 with a loss of – percent or –8.75 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,508.08 up with + percent or +8.94 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 379.29  with a loss of -0.27% percent or -1.03 point.
