S&P Futures Opening Update as on 29 May 2017

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures are trading at 2,416.00 for up with  +0.09% percent. Other U.S. stock futures are higher in pre-market trading for Monday, May 29. The Dow Futures are trading at 21,079.50 for up with +0.06% percent . The Nasdaq Futures are trading at 5,800.38 for up with +0.14% percent.

MONDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

After trending higher over the past several sessions, stocks showed a lack of direction throughout the trading day on Monday. Despite the choppy trading, the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 ended the day at new record closing highs.

The major averages finished the day on opposite sides of the unchanged line. The Dow edged down 2.67 points or less than a tenth of a percent to 21,080.28, while the Nasdaq inched up 4.94 points or 0.1 percent to 6,210.19 and the S&P 500 crept up 0.75 points or less than a tenth of a percent to 2,415.82.

FRIDAY’S ACTIVITY

U.S. market indexes were higher on  Friday. For the day the S&P 500 closed at 2,415.82 for up with 0.03% percent. The Dow Jones Industrial closed at 21,080.28 with a loss of –0.01% percent. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,210.19 for up with +0.08% percent.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,382.24  with a loss of -0.08% percent; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 837.50 with a loss of –0.02% percent; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,727.27 with a loss of –0.24% percent; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,065.35 for up with +0.04% percent; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,429.38 for up with +0.02% percent; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,338.57 for up with +0.02% percent; and the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index closed at 21,080.28 with a loss of –0.01% percent.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading at 19,682.57 with a loss of –0.02% percent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng are trading at 25,701.63 for up with +0.24% percent. China’s Shanghai Composite are trading at 3,110.06 for up with +0.07% percent. India’s S&P BSE Sensex closed at 31,109.28 for up with +0.26% percent. In Europe, the FTSE 100 are trading at 7,547.63 for up with  0.40% percent. Germany’s DAX are trading at 12,605.18 for up with  +0.02% percent. France’s CAC 40 are trading at 5,326.11 with a loss of –0.20% percent. The Stoxx Europe 600 are trading at 390.96 with a loss of –0.10% percent.
