S&P Futures Opening Update as on 02 August 2019

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,942.62  with a loss of -0.29% percent or -8.62 point.   Other U.S. stock futures lower in pre-market trading for  August 02.  The Dow Futures is trading at 26,489.00  with a loss of -0.20% percent or -53.00 point. The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,763.62  with a loss of -0.49% percent or -38.00 point.

FRIDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

U.S. stock index futures were lower Friday as investors digest news of an additional 10% tariff on Chinese imports from the U.S. ahead of a key jobs report.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures fell 58 points, indicating a loss of 60 points at the open. S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures also pointed to a lower open.

In a series of tweets on Thursday, President Donald Trump said the 10% charge would be imposed on $300 billion worth of Chinese goods. The levy will take effect starting September 1.

For the day the Dow is trading at 26,583.42  with a loss of -1.05% percent or -280.85 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,953.56 with a loss of -0.90% percent or -26.82 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 8,111.12 with a loss of -0.79% percent or -64.30 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,550.76   with a loss of -1.51% percent or -23.84 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 948.24 with a loss of -1.57% percent or −15.16 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,933.48   with  a loss of  -1.69% percent or -33.24 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,305.66 with a loss of -0.87% percent or -11.43 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,737.49 with a loss of -0.98% percent or -17.16 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,636.87   with a loss of -0.94% or -15.53 point.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 26,896.07  with a loss of -2.43% percent or -669.63 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,867.84  with a loss of -1.41%percent or -40.93 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 36,853.43  with a loss of -0.47% percent or -172.46 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,451.34 with a loss of -1.76% percent or -133.53 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 11,953.83  with  a loss of -2.44% percent or -299.32 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,410.39   with a loss of -2.65% percent or -147.02 point.
