S&P Futures Opening Update as on 05 August 2019

US PRE MARKET

The S&P 500 Futures is trading at 2,890.62  with a loss of -1.43% percent or -41.88 point.   Other U.S. stock futures lower in pre-market trading for  August 05.  The Dow Futures is trading at 26,092.00  with a loss of -1.35% percent or -357.00 point. The Nasdaq Futures is trading at 7,560.00  with a loss of -1.85% percent or -142.25 point.

MONDAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

At 7:19 a.m. ET, the yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note, which moves inversely to price, was lower at around 1.758%, off a low under 1.75%. The yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was lower at 2.303%.

The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield, which influences mortgages and other loans, fell 10 basis points on Monday, hovering close to a nearly three-year low.

Financial markets tumbled as U.S.-China trade friction prompted a stampede into relative safe harbors, including bonds, gold and the Japanese yen.

The panic is seen spreading to Wall Street, with futures signaling sharp lossesin their benchmark indices.

FRIDAY’S ACTIVITY

For the day the Dow is trading at 26,485.01  with a loss of -0.37% percent or -98.41 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,932.05 with a loss of -0.73% percent or -21.51 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 8,004.07 with a loss of -1.32% percent or -107.05 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,533.66   with a loss of -1.10% percent or -17.11 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 938.14 with a loss of -1.07% percent or −10.10 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,914.53   with  a loss of  -0.98% percent or -18.95 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,296.65 with a loss of -0.69% percent or -9.01 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,723.31 with a loss of -0.82% percent or -14.18 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,623.84   with a loss of -0.80% or -13.03 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, In other parts of world,  Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 20,720.29 with a loss of -1.74% percent or -366.87 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 26,178.56  with a loss of -2.75% percent or -740.02 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,821.50  with a loss of -1.62% percent or -46.34 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 36,671.11  with a loss of -1.21% percent or -447.99 point at 12:15 PM.The FTSE 100 is trading at 7,243.68 with a loss of -2.21% percent or -163.38 point. Germany’s DAX is trading at 11,672.85  with  a loss of -1.68% percent or -199.59 point. France’s CAC 40 is trading at 5,246.01   with a loss of -2.11% percent or -112.98 point. The Stoxx Europe 600 is trading at 370.63  with a loss of -1.99% percent or -7.52 point.
